Easier that being pro-active in trying to clean up mailing lists, here�s
today�s mailing from an Ecartis joke server list I set up last week:

... that�s just 000000.2% bounces ( bounced / delivered+bounced ).
A lotta zero�s, huh? :)))
For the first mailing last week, there lists under Lyris had not been doing
automatic bounce processsing and the bounces were about 3 to 4 %.
After a few days of automatic bounce processing by Ecartis (ex-Listar),
their lists are about as clean as they�re going to get (and stay clean),
and nobody spent a penny or a minute on it.
