This is not just limited to e-mail. As an administrator I can go anywhere
and see everything, opening every file that I want to. Even though the users
are told that only they have access to their personal folders stored on the
file server, they realize that if I have to I can get in. Someone has to be
able to "take ownership", to coin an NT phrase, and be able to access the
files. What if someone is on vacation or leaves the company? This is about
personal integrity and morality. But is also about time. Do I have the time
to rifle through people's e-mail or scan the server for confidential company
information? Not really, I'm too busy reading the messages from this forum
and smacking users in the back of the head for doing stupid things...<G>

Subject: [IMail Forum] Privacy from the administrator's eyes

Is there any way that I can set up IMail Administrator so that it would be
very very difficult, if not impossible, for me to read the mail of my fellow
employees?

I would like to be able to retain the power to set up new accounts.

The problem, as I see it, is that if I wanted to read someone's mail, I
could change their password and then read their mail. Of course, when they
went to get their mail, their password wouldn't work. Nevertheless, I would
really rather not have the power to read anyone elses mail.

Thanks for any insight.
