Let's try to do this free of charge--that would be the primary purpose
of the list!
You may be confused as to the relationship between your web site's A
(Alias) record in DNS and the MX record in DNS, but let's try to get
to that down the road. Let me state my major findings:
- You have an MX record listed for mail users whose addresses are
@www.letchworthtechnologies.com or @letchworthtechnologies.com.
However, this MX record, mail.letchworthtechnologies.com
[66.66.89.109] does not respond on the standard SMTP port of 25.
- It is therefore impossible to tell whether the Imail server is
actually configured to retrieve mail locally for these domains.
Based purely on the above and your note that you're using RR's cable
service, I have a strong feeling the RR itself does not allow you to
run a mail server over your cable modem connection, or has not
permissioned (and charged) you appropriately to do so. It would
therefore be unlikely that any consultant working alone could solve
this problem, and far more likely that you, in conference with your
ISP, would be equally able to find out a workaround if there is one.
A secondary possibility is that you are allowed to have incoming port
25 traffic, but that your cable modem/router is not doing NAT (network
address translation) correctly or is not doing it at all. The way to
test this is to run a traditional type of service, like a web server,
on the Imail box, but on a non-traditional port, such as 81 (this is
easily setup in IIS, and you can write me for details). ISPs that
block your ability to run servers may not ban all incoming traffic,
but only those on traditional (called "well-known") ports.
A tertiary possibility is that the IP address that DNS returns is not
actually the address doled out to you by RR. This needs some research
on your side.
There are also other areas of possibility. If you write back to me
directly, it'll be faster than the list, but I'm not applying for your
paid service position...too many variables for that.
