I can almost 99% guarantee that you will not be able to send mail to any other domain.
Ive got a friend in Mass with Verizon DSL. I had to setup a special work arround for him so he could send mail thru my server cuz Verizon BLOCKS port 25.

You need another ISP

Additional info:

  • Connection to outside world is via commercial ADSL account to verizon.
  • Imail is running on a Windows 2000 Server box named goliath.i-hillsboro.net (4.41.172.69)
  • Fhls.org is running as a virtual server at 4.41.172.74 (dually assigned to the same nic as I-hillsboro.net)
  • II s is also running on this box and its SMTP service is shut off
  • DNS is external on a Linux 7.1 box (4.41.172.67)
  • Mail.fhls.org resolves correctly to 4.41.172.74
  • Mail.i-hillsboro.net resolves to 4.41.172.69
  • Both mail server and DNS server are on the public side of the firewall.
  • I just deleted and reinstalled imail so I could have new foundation to build upon.
  • I want to add additional virtual hosts/domains

I am trying to resolve an issue with external domains.  I can send email to users on host mail.fhls.org and receive mail from external domains but I can not send from a mailbox to an external domain mailbox.
