I ran into this problem with the iwebmsg.exe file. I re-ran the 7.04HF2
patch and then re-attempted the 7.05 patch. I got farther this time,
but stopped again at 26% with bpserv.exe. I have tried completely
rebooting the machine with the same results. Any ideas?

I ran into a problem upgrading this morning. The upgrade stopped on the
file 'IMailsec.dll'. I did a reboot of the server and tried the update
again. The update worked successfully. Don't know if this will help in
your situation but I thought I would mention it. Of course I stopped
all the services after the reboot.

OK, hold off for now...

We'll get the patch thing straightened out as far as the file
identification problem goes.

However, there is no way to replace a file that is in use by a running
process without stopping that process at some point. What the patch
(should be doing) is putting the files out there with a slightly
modified name. At the end of a successful install, if it detects that
some of the processes
(services) where in fact running, it tells you that you MUST reboot for
the patch to take effect. (This reboot message is easy to ignore, and
frequently
is) This is because when you reboot, a script is run by NT that renames
the files back to the original while the old files are deleted. That is
how all patches work.

If I may make a suggestion, wait til your customers complain about
something that is corrected in this patch and then tell them you need to
schedule a little bit of downtime to make the correction. Then do it
during a period of minimal activity.

Sorry for the trouble this has caused!
