First, you need to decide whether or not you want to accept mail that is sent to @mail.example.com. Right now, mail isn't accepted to @mail.example.com. If you decide that you do NOT want to accept mail to @mail.example.com, you'll need to make sure that IMail doesn't know that mail.example.com exists. For example, if it shows up as a domain alias, you'll need to get rid of it.
