Try filtering on the header and not the "from" field.  I have had better
luck that way.  I would also suggest adding the line directly to the
rules.ima file and not using the utility.

H~yahoo\.com:spambox or H~@yahoo\.com:spambox

Thanks but it still didn't work - gives a False when I test it. I tried
creating two new rules for the domain, copied each of the lines below into
the Contains field and on one selected Sender and the other From. Should I
be copying these directly into the rules file rather than use the rules
utility in Imail administrator?

That should help.  You could put yahoo in the kill files but that would
block the domain for all customers.
