More Information On the problem...

- The problem abruptly started last week. We never had a problem before
then.
- When the problem, manifests itself, it is a SUDDEN event. CPU utilization
jumps from an average of 2% - 10% to 30% - 80%. Again, it is not a gradual
thing and I can't seem to pin it on any one email box.

make directory list of

dir /imailboxestopdirectory/main*.mbx /s

and see if one or more has become humongous.  I suspect that when Imail
gets very busy, and then has to scan huge mailbox files for imap or
webmail, it screws up SMTP AUTH and the scanning process.  just a guess.

imap is evil, webmail is evil, for encouraging uses to keep huge mailboxes
on the server.
