I believe IMAIL has an allowed "hosts" file for IMAP lookup , or of course,
you could use the idea of a packet check at the firewall.

In our case for Intercompany lookups (the biggest reason for our clents to
want LDAP), is the set to ldap.company.com

The host based (ip based thing would work in MANY environments where Static
IP is available).

The problem for us is that we use LDAP to give an EXTERNAL company access to
books, so we'd have to maintain password database for incompany
communications...

Try the IP route if it works for you , OR maybe we'll see password auth some
day in IMAIL but i don't believe it's there right now.  I'm sure Ipswitch
will correct if I'm wrong.  (I just checked on my own server and it has just
the IP option (7.05).
