Jim Netscape will allow authentication do the following
Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups | Servers | Outgoing mail server user name Under outgoing mail server make sure that the user inserts below the outgoing server his user name to logon to the server. This will allow for SMTP authentication, we have several people using Netscape Mail and can authenticate with out any problems.
