well, we know that a badly formatted msg can become a killer msg and zombie
out any SMTP process that reads it, until the memory is full of zombie SMTP
processes.
So it's plausible that iwebmsg has a similar vulnlerability.
And IMAP?
There is a fairly religious debate in the *nix world about whether a
mailbox should be stored as single file or a a single directory with one
file per msg.
When POP3 is main mailbox protocol, the single mailbox files stay pretty small.
When iwebmsg or IMAP is the main mailbox access, the single mailbox file
can become 10's of mbytes or more. Probably the msg-per-file is
better. It would certainly be faster since msg add/delete is add/delete
file, with less chance of locking conflicts as with one mailbox file.
