While I have put out instructions for my Outlook 2000/XP users, my OL97
users can't send.

The "Outlook 97 Update: Internet Mail Enhancement Patch", which allows
the option to do "Secure Password Authentication", doesn't seem to do
the trick. Is this because "Secure Password Authentication" only
authenticates for POP, not SMTP... Which gets us no where for sending in
OL97?

So, now what? I have a few 97 users out there that will need to do
something. I don't think upgrading to MS Office 2000 or 2002 is really
an option, mostly due to computer resources and the fact that most users
are off site. What are some of "the best" clients out there (hopefully
not that much $$)? (I am searching the KB and past posts, but I am in a
crunch... Plus I'd like to know if there are any new developments in
clients, etc.).

Thanks!
