Ah, that's different.  Hotmail and Yahoo and the few other giant free 
E-mail services are notorious for having flaky mailservers.  It's not 
terribly unusual for mail to those servers to take a while to get delivered.

But, this indicates that it may not just be a Hotmail or Yahoo issue.  If 
the mailing list E-mail bounces after 20 attempts, but a single E-mail goes 
straight through, something's up.

I would check your IMail SMTP log files, to see what happens when IMail 
tries delivering them.  Can IMail connect to the Hotmail mailserver?  If 
so, is it able to send any commands (EHLO, MAIL FROM, RCPT TO, 
DATA...)?  Does the connection time out somewhere during the session?  Does 
Hotmail return any temporary/transient error messages, which would cause 
IMail to try again later?
