With IMGate at the edge, only the sending ip (RBL lookups and local 
filtering) and headers (filtering + DNS validations) are enough to reject.

VERY HARD even to count how much just the HEADERS of rejected messages 
consume, but it's miniscule, at worst.

Typical reject rates for IMGate run between 15% and 40%.

True, local AV solutions have to receive the entire message (bandwidth) in 
order to scan/reject it, but infections run well below 1% of total messages.

I can't see where Postini is going to save 30% of bandwidth, except in 
Postini sales literature.
