Thanks for the info. I have seen all of these articles and have tried all of the suggestions without success.
 
At the moment the server is very lightly loaded but it does not seem to make any difference to it.

The second however seems more likely to me to be the cause of the issue.

You may also have bad RAM.

I keep getting the following error

 

Initialization of the dynamic link library c:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\COMCTL32.DLL failed. The process is terminating abnormally.

 

It does it for both SMTP and also IMAIL1 processes. I have looked in the IMAIL knowledge base and did find an article that suggests increasing a value in the registry which I have done, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Any ideas? The only way that seems to clear it for any length of time is to reboot the server which doesn't go down too well!!

 

I have also checked that I have the latest version of this library and updated Internet Explorer as it seems to use this file.
