I  think  your description of the problem is confusing, leading people
to leave it alone.

If I can guess at your setup from your e-mail:

a. You have a single IP address, call it 10.10.10.10.

b.  You  have domains mail.student.tio.nl and mail.tio.nl both running
on the IMail server as separate hosts.

c. One of your domains is bound to the IP address 10.10.10.10, but the
other is a virtual domain (please detail).

d.  You  have A records for mail.tio.nl and mailie.student.tio.nl that
point to 10.10.10.10.

e.  You  have  a  CNAME  record for mail.student.tio.nl that points to
mailie.student.tio.nl.

You  need  to  confirm, contradict, and expand on this. Include all IP
addresses  and  DNS  RR  types  in-depth, and full IMail hostname info
including  host  aliases  and the official hostname of the whole IMail
server (localhost hostname).

Then we'll figure it out.
