Yep to clarify - the rfc has been updated and dnstuff doesn't recognize
that.  Had I checked the knowledgebase more thoroughly I would never
have had to ask the question :)

You can have it so that the MX record for mail.virtual_host.com points
to 
aztek2.aztekcs.net, which would fix the problem.

On the other hand, this is not a major issue -- the real problem is with

invalid host names there (such as just "mail" or "mail.made_up_domain").
