As I wrote a few months ago, I feel it would be best if someone from
Ipswitch could post a canned weekly reminder -- as was the case quite a
while ago -- delineating the purpose of this list. They (Ipswitch)
could/should add what they consider to be appropriate etiquette as well.

Since this is an unmoderated vendor-provided list (thanks, Ipswitch), it
seems logical to me that the vendor should establish a set of guidelines
rather than having a situation where some list members feel that they must
act as "moderators" -- and take criticism for their well-meaning efforts.

The suggestions that I have seen proposed by some members are, in my view,
quite appropriate. I'm just hoping that Ipswitch will review them and resume
posting reminders that include [some of] these etiquette guidelines. This
would take the load off of some participants who feel like they should
police this list.

I think that we would thus have the best of both worlds: An unmoderated list
with vendor-determined guidelines.

Just my $0.02 (Cdn)

Guy
