Sheldon, I can see your point but what if one is an ISP and some government auditor or whatever wants to see evidence dating back to two years? I'm certainly not a lawyer but I've read horror stories where an ISP was asked to provide records up to seven years back in the course of a fraud inquiry. Yup, those DAT24 tapes are expensive...
