If you have an ODBC-to-LDAP connector that allows full read/write access, it is possible (but the closest inexpensive product I know of is actually a JDBC-to-LDAP driver, which then requires a JDBC-to-ODBC shim and gets rather complicated). The bottom line is that IMail's external database must be accessible over ODBC--whether it's an LDAP database to the rest of the world or not, whether it stores its underlying data in ODBC-accessible form or not.
