In the template Gallery: http://www.ipswitch.com/Support/IMail/templates.html there are plain templates for version 6 that would need some updates for 7.1, though probably not too many modifications if you are only looking for the ability to read mail and do not need all of the admin functionality. These are designed without graphics and fewer tables.
ftp://ftp.ipswitch.com/Ipswitch/Product_Support/IMail/templates/plain6.zip I don't necessarily recommend this but as a short term solution you could create a virtual domain, set it's top directory to be the same as your domain, create the same username and you would have access to your email with these templates when you log in as user@virtual. Just remember to set your reply-to in the virtual to your primary domain.
