Is there a Linksys DSL router or the likes at the clients location?

The mail client doesn�t send the mail at all. It starts sending the mail
and then it says "the smtp server didn�t answer in xxx seconds. Do you
want to wait ....." and stops. But if I send the mail without the
attachment, it sends it normally.

Not the case.

The sending machines are virus free.
