We're talking about two different welcome messages. The one I'm talking about is in web messaging. The one you and the IMail docs are referring to is the SMTP greeting message. And the docs are right.

Will deleting the mailwelc.txt file provide me with more protection against hackers?  The IMail Server User Guide suggested that the default Welcome Message could assist hackers by revealing the mail server version, OS, and vendor.
