Hello,
A few weeks back we moved
IMail to a new server. We moved about 30 domains and about 2,000 user
accounts. We moved from NT4 to 2000 Advanced Server, and we also moved to
virtual domains for 28 of the domains, keeping just 2 domains with a real
IP. These were our 2 main domains. We were running
5.04
Over the course of the next
few weeks we've discovered that a very small portion of our users now are having
difficulty using the java buttons on web messaging. Most buttons work, but
delete, reply, forward, etc. java buttons result in a "page cannot be displayed"
error most of the time, but sometimes results in other
oddities.
It turns out that less than
a dozen people have this issue out of the 2,000 people that were using the
system. They did not have this issue until we moved IMail to the new
server. In the interim, I have upgraded I-Mail to 6.06 (a new-in-the-box
retail pack off eBay that Ipswitch doesn't want to give 60-days support on I
guess, since they are not answering my question.) In every case, the
people who have this problem are people using the primary domain.
Rebuilding the email box doesn't help. It apparently isn't related to the
email box.
I actually went to the home
of one of the people complaining about this issue because I had been unable to
reproduce it. Sure enough, those buttons simply did not work for ANY email
account I logged into with web messaging (including accounts that work fine
elsewhere).
The user is running
W98SE. I upgraded their browser to IE6. I updated the java virtual
machine. I checked to make sure that cookies and security settings were
standard.
I cannot fix the
problem. Really, I am at a loss...
