Ok, I've been using Imail for probably 5 years for our hosting company -- we have about 2000 virtual hosts & ~7000 users. Until recently we have been running the latest version 6 on an NT 4 SP6a server.
About once a day or so, we have to restart the SMTP server ... and the have been other small anomolies. I thought, ok, 7 has been out long enough, it's time to upgrade -- Dropped down my $600+ for the service agreement and the new classic web templates, and did the installs (yesterday). Today, smtp was dying more frequent than ever! Web messaging seems much more slow, and IMAP is frequently timing out!! I have read every kb article -- and even called Ipswitch support. They sent me here cause they didn't have any solution. Things I have done: I have dropped two name servers listed in the lookup box to one. I have moved the spool directory to a different drive (having to break a mirror to try this). I've tried raising and lowering the number of allowed smtp instances. (currently set to 25). I've increased the size of the swap file, and put it on another drive (although I never see memory useing more that about 100M total (its got 512MB physical). I've set the log file to the log server so I can watch smtp traffic real time. Nothing seems abnormal. I'm not running any anti-virus stuff, this is a straight Imail install. The database is the local Imail (registry) one. One odd thing is that the computer seems to have plenty of available resources. The smtp *occassionally* hits the CPU at 100%, but that is about it. I'm really at a loss, and feeling beat up -- and I could use some help. Thanks in advance. -Kelly Britt p.s. are there any good log analysis tools for 7.0?
