That's  not  a PID. It's an internal thread ID logging a function call
by  an  existing thread (SMTPD32 starts several threads at startup for
different functions).

You  will  find the same thread ID present for SMTP AUTH attempts from
different sessions. Exactly as I said, no additional process or thread
is invoked for SMTP AUTH calls.
