The MX20 is just a backup MX acting as relay-only function. No mailboxes
there. Only one POP3 server (at the end, one A record to point to when user
looks for mail) in the primary box-->MX10

I export the registry and other useful information from IMAIL folder to a
third box. Different from MX10 and MX20 boxes. Just a backup server use for
backup purposes. If I finally loose my MX10 box. I setup a brand new one or
format the MX10 box and restore the information from the third box. I don't
send the backup information to the MX20 box, although I could do that just
for redundancy purposes when doing the daily backup... and if necessary I
could promote that mx20 box to mx10, but I rather prefer to keep it as a
relay box and setup a brand new one (new box or format the mx10)

a third box as said above

uhmm if you said so.. I believe you are right. Just a spool and forward
operation is not enough for my "soul"..jeje. I feel better if I do daily
backups of the registry and parts of the Imail folder in my third box. As a
matter of fact I have a lot of redundancy doing backups of the sites we host
and the SQL DB we provide to our clients.

so.. if somebody asks "what about your backup plans" I can say.. "sure, we
have some" and be very specific when necessary.
