Heinrich - Thanks!

Here's what I show now:
220 www.storehousesoftware.com (IMail 7.13 16-1) NT-ESMTP Server LX1
ehlo
250-www.storehousesoftware.com says hello
250-SIZE 0
250-SBITMIME
250-DSN
250-ETRN
250-AUTH LOGIN CRAM-MD5
250-AUTH=LOGIN
250-EXPN

I've set relay for Addresses and have only the address of my server.

The SMTP VRFY command is disabled.

If you would be so kind again, please check and see if that blocks relaying.

Peter

Well, my server was on the internet. But, it isn't anymore; it's behind a
router. Imail should only relay messages that come from servers on my LAN
behind the router. So, my server shouldn't be a spam threat. Am I missing
something?

I'm still not seeing where the Relay for Addresses is found. I have Imail
7.13. I'm looking under services at the various choices for SMTP. Is that
the place?

>Is there a way with Imail to specify the addresses that you will relay?

The "Relay for Addresses" setting lets you choose which IP ranges are
allowed to relay mail through your server. The only other people that can
relay are those who use SMTP AUTH. The "No Mail Relay" setting only allows
people to relay mail through server if they are using SMTP AUTH.

>Why is being a relay for servers on your LAN a spam threat?

Because it isn't your LAN -- your mailserver is on the Internet. If DSBL
can reach your mailserver (and send an E-mail through it), so can that
spammer. And, I'm sure your paying customers (assuming you're a business of
some sort) wouldn't be happy to know that they have to pay you, but spammers
don't. :)
