IMail appears to send vacation messages to the envelope sender of a message and not the From: header - I just checked with 7.15 at least. So provided the Samba list is working properly and changing the address in the MAIL FROM: command to a particular administration address (check your logs and look for one of those list messages to see what it is), you can drop that address in vacation.snt as was suggested earlier. In any case, your vacation message shouldn't be going back to the main list - section 3.10 of RFC2821 is pretty clear that the envelope sender should be changed to that of the list administrator, not the list itself.
