OK.. You are running a Windows NT Server (NT4 (or) Win2k?)
NOT ALL!!! Programs that Startup at windows is in your Windows Start Menu.
What programs do you have installed on the server?
Some programs that you install, will launch at Startup and will be so FAST>>>>>>>
That you only get a glimps of it, and sometimes, you will not even get that.
MySQL <-- This is one of them that Start-Up that gives you a very quick Glimps.
Firewall's & Antivirus Programs also startup very fastly.
And tons of over programs as well. Also "IMail" Starts up, and you do not see it either.
See you must understand that there are allot of programs and services that you have installed
onto the server that have to Start with Windows, so that its functions are needed it does not have to wait
Or get errors, and or sometimes crash your server.
The Registry, is not a very good place to go into if you are not use to it, Trust me, I had to talk my
Father through it over the Phone, Damn what a time that was, 2 hours to do something that would take me about
30-seconds. But ... That is another OT: Subject :-)
Take Care
And find out what programs that you have on your system, One good program is called
Belarc Advisor. --> http://belarc.com/free_download.html Freeware for non-comercial Use.
This program will install itself, and create a Profile of your system, and let you know
EVERYTHING that is installed on your system, all the way down to the Type of Motherboard.

Where in the NT registry is "startup" of programs done that are services, not from the regular startup menu?I see a program starting up when I run my server but it is not in the regular startup menu.wow, at the very least this should have had an OT put in the subject line. If you're asking this question, I wouldn't be fooling around in a registry if I were you. :-) Chris
