i've managed to reinstall imail v6.5 on a win 2000 system with password changes being synchronised via the web interface and the nt sam. any suggestions ??

You can't (like the error says) change passwords, nor add or delete
users for that matter, through the IMail interfaces if you are using
NT SAM/AD DC integration. The intent is that you use the NOS' existing
tools to manage your userbase in that deployment. And I believe this
is a reasonable limitation, since otherwise one false click could
destroy a user's permissions to many unrelated network resources.
If you create a standalone userbase by using either the IMail native
database or ODBC, you'll have full control from IMail.
