I am seeing the same issue, I upgraded to 7.15 and still am having the difficulty.  I also have noticed 2 things one, the actual smtp service is not stopped, yet when you stop and restart it it does begin working again.  And two, not sure if it relates but have noticed a lot of "Send Error 10054" in my logs when the service isn't working.

Thanks

Subject: [IMail Forum] SMTP services crashes

Hi i am using IMAIL 7.13 and the IMAIL smtp service seems to crash alot for me lately. Basically what happens is I try to test to make sure smtp is working by sending an email to myself. I don't receive it, so i go and check the mailserver and the cpu flatelined, not really being used at all. Ussually when the smtp service is working properly, the cpu utilization has large spikes. and sometimes maxes out at 100% when it is super busy. I was wondering if anybody knows of a way for me to trubleshoot this issue. The way i ussually fix it is to rebot the server. We don't ussually lose any emails during this process, but it annoying because it seems to happen everyday. Any help would be appreciated. We are running a windows 2000 server with all the latest service packs, 2 Gig of RAM and dual Xeon 700's with 2Meg cache.
