I hate to say this but they *sould* (as you well know). Breaking the RFCs is a good way to attract possible problems. Are you implying that RFC ignorance is somehow expected from mail admins who choose to use, for instance, 66.130.24.110 (my current IP) as a private, internal IP address? Are they assumed to pick *any* dotted-quad address as they please and not be blamed for consequences?
