I  have to take issue with this blanket statement, as IMail peering is
extremely   well-suited   for   some   situations.  And  without  more
information  from  Dan  as  to  the  percentage  of  intra-site local,
inter-site  local,  remote  mail  from HQ and satellites, and incoming
mail  to  HQ and satellites, there is no way that any of us can make a
decision  as  to  the  best  fit.

Only  IMail peering allows completely hands-free maintenance, no batch
files,  no  alias  files,  no  subdomains, and would also allow branch
office   managers   to   manage   their   own   userbase  without  any
communications  with HQ, if desired. It may not be the right way here,
but it's certainly not worthy of knee-jerk rejection.
