Since I upgraded to v7 (I am now on v8) I have been using SMTP authentication. Unfortunately some apps and programs aren't compatible with the auth and it has caused a problem. I have seen that it is the apps that only use "plain" authentication that have a problem. I am also a programmer, and have written SMTP Classes, and can verify that iMail does work with login, and cram but not plain. The manual says it should support plain. Is there a setting I am missing to allow plain auth? I have looked high and low.
