Imail v 6.06, ClassicWebmail templates. When an AOL user forwards an email to an IMAIL account, AOL attaches the forwarded message (as opposed to forwarding it in-line in the body).
IMAIL user opens the email in webmail. See the entire message in the body, with no attachments. User now wants to forward this email to someone else. They click FORWARD. The message forward composition window appears. There is no message body, except for "ORIGINAL MESSAGE: FROM, SUBJECT". The rest of the body is blank. There are no attachments. I have personally verified this. I verified the webmail settings: "Forward: edit original message" and "Forward: include attachments". I have also tried "TEXT ATTACHMENTS: Show as link". No matter what the settings are, many messages that are forwarded as attachments will not be forwardable by an IMAIL user in webmail. It is not happening to every AOL forwarded message - some are re-forwardable. And I have seen it happen once with a hotmail message that was forwarded to an IMAIL user. Seems to be something in the way the multipart header is constructed by the sender under certain circumstances. When the re-forwarding doesn't work, the original message as displayed in webmail has these strange ----BOUNDARY---- footers repeated a few times at the end of the message body. I have searched the list archives, and didn't really come across this exact problem. Came across lots of regular "can't forward attachment" problems. But this is a little different. The message being forwarded does not contain attachments when opened to be viewed (it does, however, show an attachment paper click icon when you view the message from the message list window). I also took this same IMAIL account and created it as an IMAP account in my local client. I opened the same message, and tried to forward it elsewhere through outlook. Forwards just fine, with the original message in tact. Anyone have any ideas? This is driving some of our users crazy.
