I do have Netshield, and only that.  It does exlude C:\Imail already --
doublechecked.  I have just disabled Netshield altogether and the messages
fly right in.

Hmmmph!  Maybe on our real server (that we're moving to), Windows 2000/2003
with a gob of memory and SCSI drives with Netshield will not be a problem as
it is in this test scenario.

Thanks -- you'd think it should still on this little system with such a
little load.
