The Blackberry does work on the cellular network and depending on the
provider and their coverage, it could be good or bad. We use the
Blackberry's and IPAQ here globally, however they are being used for two
totally different business needs.

The Blackberry are nice if you have the Enterprise software and tie it
directly into your Corporate Exchange or Lotus Notes environment. You can
get the "ISP" version but it is not as "clean" as the Enterprise solution.

The IPAQ is great if you want a "mimi" computer. You can use email and web
and etc, but it is still very slow. The benefit of the Blackberry with the
Enterprise software is the "always on" feature of Wireless Calendaring and
Email. The ISP version is nice, but you have the problem of having the non
corporate email address.

So I guess the question is "What do you need to do with it" They are both
nice "toys" but really they are both used by different "types" of business
users.

Well....it seems that my boss needs a new toy. He would prefer a Pocket PC
or Blackberry with an integrated phone. I have a few questions though.

1) I thought the big benefit of a Blackberry was that is operated on the
Paging Network which has supposedly better coverage than cellular networks.
If the Blackberry has an integrated phone is is on a cellular network or
both the cellular and paging networks ?

2) Would the best way to access email be via IMAP and is IMAP supported on
the Pocket PC platform?

My aplogies for the of topic message, but I am sure that some/many of you
have faced or will face the same question.

Unfortunately, the salespeople really do not know what they are talking
about and contradict each other as well as themselves.

Thanks in advance.
