I run iMail 5 in conjunction with Network Associates Webshield for SMTP.
Ah, the "Spammer's Friend." :) When your license expires, *please* consider another AV program. For years, they have allowed their software to anonymize spammer's IPs. If spammers are as smart as they seem to be these days (a major change from a few years ago), they are sending you a lot more spam because they know it will be much harder for you to track them because you use WebShield.
But I digress. :)
I am now having a weird problem where certain emails from just a few addresses are being bounced.
I cannot come up with a pattern to this, we are an ISP and it happens for certain customers, but only to certain addresses.
What do the log files show? Does it always happen with someone tries sending E-mail to one of the problem addresses, or just sometimes?
I opened an issue with Network Associates, which claim it has something to do with the combination of Microsoft DNS and non-RFC complaint email addresses.
What are some of the E-mail addresses (just the username portion without the domain should be fine)?
My problem is that my upgrade is still about six months away.
If that -- it took them about 2 years to fix a vulnerability we alerted them to that made it very easy for someone to shut down the entire WebShield server. Unfortunately, we also told them a workaround, which is why they took so long to fix it (not realizing that the only customers of theirs using the workaround were ones who had already encountered the problem, or heard about it from someone else).
