For some reason one of my mail servers stopped delivering messages. I looked at task manager and noticed that there were lots of SMTP32.exe (which I know is normal)

"normal" qty of smtp32 is what for you?

, but there were also lots of instances of Imail1.exe and ImailSrv.exe which I have never seen before. Can anyone tell me why this might be, and if it may be causing my server to cease message deliveries?

what version of Imail? a old problem that would cause outbound mail to delay was a "killer message" in the queue that each SMTP client would gag on when trying to unqueue it for delivery. memory would fill up with smtp32 processes and all Imail activity would grind to a crawl.
