I am currently running Imail on an NT 4.0 BDC using NT Authorization. We have another NT 4.0 Box that functions as our PDC.
I have purchased a new 2 GHz box with 2 GB RAM and 120GB Raid array to replace the box where Imail is currently running (400MHz/500MB/36GB SCSI Software RAID). This new box is running Win2k. I would like to continue to use NT authorization for our users as we use Imail Webmail exclusively and do not wish to introduce yet another password on the network. We are ready to roll out Active Directory and I am earmarking this box to perform both Imail mail services as well as Active Directory Services (running in mix mode for now using the current PDC as a backup domain controller after demotion). I would like to know what problems I may be looking at while performing this upgrade. I am aware that the ideal situation is to have these services on two separate boxes but that is not a viable option with our budget. I could possibly delay the active directory portion of the rollout but how would I then maintain the NT authorization for mail that I require? Thanks for the help in advance. Scott R.
