another option would be to install a modem on the remote system and load
PCAnywhere and set it up to answer incoming PcAnywhere calls. Then using any
machine of your choice you can install PcAnywhere and make an outbound phone
call to the remote server running PcAnywhere. No need to mess with firewalls
and you have full control of the remote system.

Just an idea...

Subject: [IMail Forum] Way OT: Looking for Remote Administrator software

Hello All,

I need to pick some brains here. I'm looking for an application that
will
allow true remote administration and control of laptops/systems for a
regional software pilot we're working on. These are Windows XP laptops
that
will be behind firewalls in different states. The problem is I only have
control of my own firewall. So, I need to have a solution that will
allow
seamless control without having to bother with firewall changes. (maybe
using port 80?)

I know that Windows XP has an app called Remote Assist which may work
but I
have no experience with it. Can anyone recommend anything?

Thanks in advance for any help y'all provide.

Troy
