Does any one try it?

Yes, lots of people have.

I read the documents but it's not clear.

You may want to go to http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19990513-EM01.htm .

My questions?
1. What type of installations I need on server 2 (10.2.2.2)

http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19990513-EM01.htm and the links there will show you how to do this.

2. Should I create virtual domain (dom1 , dom2) - I understand that I should not create users so?

Correct. In most cases, backup mailservers do not normally know what accounts are valid on the domain(s) that they act as a backup for (some mailservers allow for this, but IMail does not, unless you want to spend a lot of time setting it up manually).

3. What ports and services I need to open for IMail on server 2

The same as for your primary IMail server, minus any ports that are not necessary. The two most important ones are TCP port 25 (SMTP) and UDP/TCP ports 53 (DNS).
