Yeah, this GUI is great, but it doesn't answer my question. Can a GUI like this one be created without having to buy Killer Webmail templates? I mean, could someone like myself with a fair amount of web design/programming experience come up with a webmail template like this using what already comes with Imail by default?
There is a *lot* that you can do with the IMail web templates. Several years ago, I worked on some, and got them to look a lot like Outlook (for example, new E-mails would appear in new windows), and it didn't look at all like the existing templates. If you have the time, experience, and willingness, you can probably get them to do what you want.
