make sure there is nothing on your machine _anywhere_ named imail1..do a
search to be sure..there can only be one in the IMail directory.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Web Mail Broken

I am still having problems even after a reinstall of the Imail application
from v8.0 up to 8.5 hf1. Maybe I do have to start from version 6.06? Apply
all the patches up to and including the 8.05 hf2?

The web interface will not send mail. Everything else appears to be
functioning fine. I've heard that maybe the IMAIL1.EXE and SMTPD32.EXE
could be the issues. Is there anyway I could test these via a command line
parameter? Is the SMTPD32.EXE a Declude application? Every file and object
in the IMAIL directory, and sub directories, have only the following
permissions: Adminitrator/Full - System/Full - Everyone/Full. We have
always had some issues with the web mail from day 1 but with the addition of
the killer web mail templates, (usiing the IIS / CGI pointer script hack),
it has worked for the most part for the last 3 years.

The IMAIL and KWM templates were installed fresh on a w2k Advanced OS and
there is about 800 meg ram free. 38gb / 15k rpm 160 wide / Raid 1.. Spool on
different spindle.. Etc. If I can't get it to light up after today I'm
afraid we are going to have to abort using the web interface all together.
This 20 minute solution, and a few years of maintenance support, has cost us
far too much for what the product is worth.. let alone the loss of business
and reputation from other companies whom depend upon us. Anyone have any
recommendations of a web interface product that works and integrates with
Imail that cost < 1000.00 US? Welcome to reply off list if you like.

Thanks,

~Rick
