Hi, we have iMail version 8.05. Our settings for iMail SMTP Retry are as
follows:

Number of retries before returning to sender: 240
Amount of time (in minutes) between retries: 60

Theoretically this should retry 240 times, 60 minutes apart before a bounce
is generated.
In reality the time is more like 240 minutes (3-4 hours). It actually
doesn't matter what the amount of time in minutes between retries is set to,
which is why we've set the retry to 240 times.

We'd like to get this to a more reasonable timeframe that allows retries to
occur for a day or so and then phhht. The reason is that we also route some
ETRN traffic through this SMTP and it bounces messages if the target
Exchange server is down for more than a couple of hours. During the
Northeast blackout for instance hundreds of messages were bounced - even
though our server was up the entire time. The problem occurs with both
normal outgoing emails, and ETRN mails so it's not related to the fact it's
being used for ETRN.

Is there some setting that's causing iMail to ignore these retry settings?
Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks in advance,
Lee
