I  agree  with you that IMail is not 2821-compliant. Rather than being
based  on a deep analysis of 2821, this claim in the documentation was
probably  made  for marketing purposes--to make the software seem more
current than current RFCs require.

The docs should be back-revved to 821, which is _still_ the applicable
RFC for MTA software at this time.
