Hi all, I'm trying to set up another copy of IMail so I can test our web templates before I upgrade from 7.15 to 8.05 on the production server, but I'm having trouble even getting the built-in web templates to work. The test platform is Windows Server 2003 Standard in MS Virtual PC 2004. Here's what I've done so far:
- Run IMail 8.0 installation. Use IMail user database, default directory (C:\IMail) and No Mail Relay. Select to start the Web, POP3, SMTP and Queue Manager services after install. - Stop all services and run the 8.05 and 8.05HF2 upgrades. - Reboot. - Run IMail Administrator. Add user with username and password of "test". - Telnet to 10.0.1.74:110 from PC and manually log into POP3 (USER test, PASS test). This works. - Open web browser on same PC and browse to http://10.0.1.74:8383/. Try to log in as test/test. A packet sniffer confirms that "test" is being sent as username and password. At this point, the URL in the browser changes to something of the form http://10.0.1.74:8383/Xa5da9393c899cea0ab8080/menu.cgi , the same login screen (pre-filled in with test/test, no error message) is displayed, and the W1040309.log file contains the following three lines: 20040309 124720 Auth Logon test 10.1.42.42 Xa5da9393c899cea0ab8080 81 0. 20040309 124720 2Auth Error 10.1.42.42 0 - invalid user for Xa5da9393c899cea0ab8080 10.1.42.42 test. 20040309 124720 2Auth Error 10.1.42.42 0 - invalid user for Xa5da9393c899cea0ab8080 10.1.42.42 test. The W2040309.log file reads: 20040309 124720 Info - 10.1.42.42 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 POST /login.cgi HTTP/1.1. 20040309 124720 Info - 10.1.42.42 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 http://10.0.1.74:8383/ GET /Xa5da9393c899cea0ab8080/menu.cgi HTTP/1.1. 20040309 124720 Info - 10.1.42.42 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 http://10.0.1.74:8383/ GET /Xa5da9393c899cea0ab8080/menu.cgi HTTP/1.1. 20040309 124720 Info - 10.1.42.42 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 http://10.0.1.74:8383/Xa5da9393c899cea0ab8080/menu.cgi GET /Xa5da9393c899cea0ab8080/imailc.gif HTTP/1.1. "Ignore source address in security check" is ticked in IMail Administrator (not that it should matter in this case.) Any suggestions? I'm sure I'm probably missing something obvious here.
