We are develloping in ASP and ASP.NET.
We have ASP-modules that communicate with some parts of IMAIL-server but
we keep our hands off the web-mail-interface.

So we are very interested in
- develloping applications /solutions based on all the modules belonging
to the IMAIL-server.
- finding a cleaned-up, clear code especially in the "open" files, which
source-code could be changed, e.g. HTML-, cgi-, css-files
- not to be surprised after updating the version about the changed code
in some of the above mentioned files
- finding a clear structure, that connects all "software-modules"
belonging to the IMAIL-server

All the modules included in IMAIL-server show te traces of a
"grown-software-product" - we work on such problems...we know it from
own projects
For example: the layout of the web-mail-interface depends on
parameter-settings in some cgi-files, in some <style>-tags and in
direct-html-coded lines
I think IPSWITCH knows these "stumbling blocks" but maybe they do not
have te capacity to clean it up - we may have it - but what will happen
after the next update

If someone would start an ASP project based on all files of IMAIL-server
he or she could not calculate the consequences of the next update.
So at first there have to be strategic talks with IPSWITCH about the
update-philosophie.
After that...everyone may think or dream about...
Maybe we can talk to the IPSWITCH team on CeBit, starting on March, 18th

Betreff: [IMail Forum] Webmail in ASP

Does anyone else have interest in having the Webmail in ASP to make it
easier to integrate with an existing site, or to simply customize? Just
curious of the interest level so that Ipswitch may take notice.

I can create a survey if you guys think it would help...

If I don't get many replies I will have to assume that everyone is
perfectly happy with the current Webmail.

Eric
