Clearly,  the either the host is not recognized as local by the backup
server,  or  the  user  @ that host is not extant.

What  happens  if  you eliminate any routing issues and try to send to
that  address  from  another (valid) address on the backup box itself,
say  via  webmail?  Still  staying  just on the backup box, what about
sending  to  and from different addresses at that host? Do you see the
user  in IAdmin under a host that either is mail1.mydomain.net, or has
mail1.mydomain.net as an alias?

The Subject: of this post is a bit misleading, BTW...
